5 Steps to Rescue Your Facebook Organic Reach

Facebook has changed the Feed algorithm and now posts from friends and groups are prioritized over business pages.

There are several types of Reach on Facebook. If you check Insights, you will find Total Reach and Post Reach, and Organic Reach is a part of each. Let's find out what they are.

Post Reach is "the number of people who had any posts from your Page enter their screen". It can be paid or organic.
Total Reach is "the number of people who had any content from your Page or about your Page enter their screen". You see the total of those seen your post, paid or not.
What is Organic Reach? The number of unique users that saw your page post not as a result of an ad.

So how does Facebook News Feed work?
Every post is being ranked and those that might be most interesting and useful for you get the highest scores. Then posts are showing in your News Feed according to their scores - the highest at first. These posts pretend to become a "meaningful interaction" - that's the Facebook's goal. Well, as you might have already got it, posts are not placed chronologically, but users see first the posts they are likely to interact with. The posts from friends and family, the number of interactions, comments, reactions, shares - are some of the key factors in posts ranking. And clearly, marketers see the organic reach is declining. But it's still possible to improve it.

Ways to improve the Organic Reach

  • Publish videos and use Live Videos. Video is the most relevant ad format. It attracts users and has the highest organic reach rate. Show people that you understand their needs and have a solution. Your video must deliver the most important and useful info in first 3-5 seconds. But even more people prefer watching videos happening right now and it's now more popular than regular videos. Live Videos hit 6x more interactions. That works great to connect with your audience, for example answer the questions or tell something about your service. Just try different topics and make sure to inform users about the upcoming live stream.Anyway you have to mix your post formats to keep your feed various and engaging. Stories, questions, polls, blog posts, images with links are still working post types.
  • Best time for publishing
It's important to find out the right time for posting because the time your audience is online affects the content's visibility and reach. You may analyze, for example, the data of your group visitors activity or ad campaign's data to discover the most performing days and hours for posting. Otherwise you can use services doing that for you.
  • Farewell to Clickbaits
Facebook is very attentive and strict to such activities. You'll try to do your best but get the worst the minute Facebook demotes your post.
  • Groups activity
Post in groups, participate in conversations. It will help you to find and attract more people interested in your business. Personalize your comments and users will see that you really care about and it will create a tight connection. Ask people for their opinion, learn more about your audience.
  • Family connections
Since Facebook prioritizes family and friends connections, involve them. Engaging with your business content, they will significantly improve your reach. Normally You don't have to pay your wife and mother for sharing your news...
